About the Trio…
When three of Australia’s most versatile musicians/entertainers step into a studio together you have to expect an exciting product.
Such is the case with RUNAWAY DIXIE featuring VIRGINIA and LYNETTE COAD and JIM HERMEL.

JIM HERMEL is no stranger to the Australian Country music world with a career spanning 30 years, numerous bands and many overseas tours. Highlights of his overseas tours include performing with Jerry Lee Lewis at the Jerry Lee Lewis Showroom, Nashville, Tenn. in 1980.
Along with his well known Country and Country Rock style as a dynamic vocalist and lead guitarist, Jim has a deep love and appreciation for Bluegrass and Gospel and the forming of the trio with the Virginia and Lynette Coad has given him the opportunity to explore this field with much success.

VIRGINIA & LYNETTE COAD
Both fulltime entertainers and successful artists in their own right, Virginia & Lynette are no strangers to Australian Country Music either.
Their appreciation for the Gospel and Bluegrass style, and being versatile multi-instrumentalists not to mention being two of the most diverse and dynamic lead and harmony vocalists in Australia today, made the combination with JIM HERMEL the perfect Bluegrass/Gospel Trio package.

ABOUT THE ALBUM
There is no better three piece multi-talented combination to bring a Gospel and Bluegrass album to life than RUNAWAY DIXIE.
The decision to record the album came when the trio's various performances since its inception two years ago drew much attention that the demand for a CD from the trio grew.
The recording of the CD also brought together the dream of the Jim and the girls, so there was no time spared to get it underway.

Released in October 2009, the album has exceeded all expectations and sales, and the title track ‘Golden Mile’ (written by Jim Hermel & Virginia Coad) took out the prestigious 2010 Tamworth Songwriters ’Gospel Song Of The Year’.

“This was a great thrill for us”, said Jim, “We never expected the album to be the success it is in such a short time, and to have this win on top of that is just fantastic.”

With a dynamic selection of Instrumental/Gospel/Bluegrass/Ballad styles, the album covers a broad spectrum of traditional Classics and Originals.
